Online auction - Pakistan flood relief

Some people were asking if there are any fandom auctions intended to raise money for the flood victims in Pakistan. There is one now at
help_pakistan .
As is usual for fandom auctions, folks are offering to cook, bake, craft, write, paint and engage in other random acts of creativity for anyone who donates money to one of many reputable organizations that are involved with the rescue efforts. Go browse the delicious tags and bid if anything catches your eye. And if you have any talent/time to spare, please consider offering something yourself. (My own offer is here.)
It is customary to describe natural disasters as "devastating" but that word doesn't say much. Instead, consider that one quarter of a country slightly larger than Texas was recently or still is underwater. Put Britishly, that's all of England and Wales and a little bit of Scotland.
I grew up near here.
I bought school supplies in this marketplace. I drove over this bridge to visit the town my mom grew up in. There is no amount of WTF that makes sense of this to me. That vast bankless river? Was a piddling little stream in the drought season. We could wade in and collect rocks.
In the news report I linked above, the townspeople are saying, "It's been seven days since the floods hit us, and we haven't gotten any help from the government or any agency. You (the reporter) are the first person to come ask us how we are." The price of food has sky-rocketed, there is standing water everywhere and the conditions are ripe for epidemics. People's homes are falling apart around them. Their businesses are in ruins.
This place isn't some inaccessible hamlet tucked away in the Himalayas. This is a thriving town about a half-hour's drive from the provincial capital and two hours from the nation's capital. And they aren't getting help because there are millions of people in worse shape than they are. MILLIONS.
Imagine standing in a line behind MILLIONS of people to get your toilet unclogged. Now imagine worse.
Yeah, I can't comprehend it either.
Please Donate.
