Nerd it out for a good cause

livelongnmarry is a Live Journal community organizing an auction to raise money for for the fight against the California initiative which will legally destroy existing same-sex marriages and ban any further ones. What's unusual about the auction is that it's put together by the Fandom community, and people are offering services ranging from original and fan fiction, to knitted goods, care packages, and editing services.

I offered my services as a Science/Technology adviser for a medium-length work of fiction, and someone snapped it up within the hour. For $75.

The Moral: THERE'S A FUCKING MARKET!!!! Writers need scientists to look over their work and give advice. And they are willing to donate good money to charity for it.
